Am I the only one who sees this? Denzel Washington covers October’s GQ, and kills it. Denzel, fully comfortable and at home in his own skin, emotes an authentic masculinity so powerful that it borders on hypnotic.
Denzel Washington is not just a man who wears a good suit. It’s not incidental. He is a man, and therefore, he wears a good suit. In that sense, wearing a good suit is a consequence of manhood.
But thoughts of Denzel covering GQ uproot, at least in my mind, images of his fashion opposite – Steve Harvey. When I think of Harvey, I immediately chuckle at the SNL skit mocking the suits in The Steve Harvey Collection:
