The media has recently reported that former NFL star Vince Young went broke after earning $26 million dollars in the last five years. Young was just cut from the Buffalo Bills, possibly ending his football career. Sadly, it appears that Young’s financial irresponsibility might have led to his demise, since he doesn’t appear to have been very well-educated on how to manage money.
The first woman says that Vince bought out an entire airplane, purchasing every single ticket, all so he could ride on the plane all by himself. The woman said that there was no entourage, and no other passengers, just Vince. She said that the only reason she was able to get on the plane with him was because she’d purchased her ticket in advance and he wasn’t able to buy it. Stupid? Yea, probably. We bet he’ll be wanting that money back when the poor man is in bankruptcy court.

I am not sorry to see him parted from his money if this was the foolishness he engaged in. We can’t escape poverty and build real wealth because we are too busy trying to prove how ‘deep’ our pockets are… while demonstrating how shallow our minds are to everyone else.
It’s not about keeping up with the Joneses.
