We reached out to our readers on the Your Black World fan page to ask them if they feel that Mitt Romney put the nail into his own coffin by constantly saying things that appear to offend half the country. Earlier in the week, Romney was recorded as saying that 47% of all Americans are going to vote for Obama because they are dependent on the government. He also said that campaigns that discuss serious issues don’t win.
The Republican convention was a dud, Romney embarrassed himself when he went overseas. Is there any more that he could do to hand the election over to President Obama?
As a result of Romney’s mistakes, even his own Republican counterparts are starting to abandon him. He is being criticized for not being a true conservative, and President Obama has received a bump in recent polls. So, the question is: Is Mitt Romney finished?
Here is a sample of the responses:

He’s not done until Americans who don’t want him to be president says he’s done. We do that by voting. Don’t be fooled. If there’s a way for rich white Republicans to get him in, they’ll get him in. Why do you think they’re trying to suppress your vote! Turn out at the polls and vote!

Hello:
I’m white (or so I’m told) but I have a lot of respect for black people. I lived in Memphis for a couple of years, have worked for black people (meaning that I have been employed BY them) and have never had a problem with black people holding positions of authority over me. I love Barack Obama, campaigned vigorously for him in 2008, and am doing so again this year.
I simply hope that the talk about Obama being “too comfortable with ‘the’ gays” goes away soon. I’m a straight man, but I have no problems with gay people (see a pattern here…)?
Just don’t vote against Obama for the one or two views that he holds that you don’t share. Mitt Romney holds at least 313 views that are inconsistent with what most of us want — be us black OR white. Let’s remember this on election day. Vote on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 — and vote for Barack Obama. NOT voting is giving Mitt Romney your vote. And you don’t want to do that.
Thank you.
