It seems that Obamacare is more popular than Republicans ever realized. First Mitt Romney was booed while vowing to repeal Obamacare at the NAACP
convention, then on Friday, vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan was booed at the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) for the same offense.
When Ryan said he would protect Medicare by repealing Obamacare, the crowd exploded with boos. Some in the crowd called Ryan a “liar” and told him to “go home.”
Ryan attempted to cut the tension by saying, “I had a feeling there would be mixed reactions,” but the damage was already done.
Mitt Romney’s vice presidential pick pushed forward, saying that Obamacare ”weakens Medicare for today’s seniors and puts it at risk for the next generation,” which was received with even more booing from the crowd.
