Tea Party Head: “I Don’t Believe Obama Loves the Country the Way We Do”

As people who pay attention to politics have always known, President Obama isn’t a radical leftist, he’s a moderate, and his signature achievement, the Affordable Care Act, was born at a conservative think tank. This, more than anything,  gives voice to Obama’s moderation and bipartisanship.

But the Tea Party needs a reason to hate Obama, so since they can’t base their hate on his actual policies, they pretend to know his heart. They pretend that he’s a socialist, radical, Kenyan, Muslim who doesn’t love his country. Sadly, it’s all fiction from a regressive and unhinged right wing, which has become deranged at the very thought of having a black president.

On Tuesday morning’s Starting Point, this derangement became apparent when host Soledad O’Brien asked Tea Party Express chair Amy Kremer whether she thought President President Obama loved America. Kremer replied that, in her view, Obama is more focused on making the country part of something “global,” and less about pursuing the idea of “the shining city on the hill, the greatness that has always been America.” She went on to gush over  Mitt Romney, saying Romney has “taken companies that are failing and turned them around to make them successful.”
