Unhinged: Pat Robertson Says Democrats Are the Party of “Gays, Godless, and Whatever Else”

The ascent of Barack Obama to the Presidency of the United States of America has done more to trigger the derangement of right wingers than anything in recent memory. Although televangelist Pat Robertson was already near the edge, blaming gays for hurricanes and other such nonsense, it’s probably safe to say that he’s finally crossed over the crazy threshold.

On his 700 Club show, Robertson said  “gays, godlessness, and whatever else” are what the Democratic Party stands for. He continued, asserting that Democrats are “going after God,” as if to say Democratic principles, such as support for a living wage and health care for all, are anti-God.

But those who are familiar with Robertson know his sordid history of smuggling African blood diamonds.
