The life story of baseball legend Jackie Robinson, who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier by signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers, is coming to the big screen. 42 is new biopic being distributed by Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures with a theatrical release date of April 12, 2013. The films release date coincides with the 66th anniversary of Jackie Robinson Day, which marks the first game Jackie Robinson played as a Brooklyn Dodger.
The film is written and directed by Brian Helgelandand stars Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson, Nicole Beharie as Rachel Robinson (Jackie’s wife) and Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey; the Brooklyn Dodgers manager who signed Robinson as the first black player in the history of Major League baseball.

The NBL and The NHL are succeeding in making it an All White sport, and its shameful, for if a Man of Dark Color wants to become a baseball player or hockey player, because of his color, he probably will not get the chance…..It’s all about sportsmanship, and the Owners lack that, as well as some of the players too.
