Nokia Apologizes for Misleading Consumers with False Advertising

Nokia is eating a bit of crow as it’s been forced to apologize for misleading consumers when marketing a new line of phones.  The company said this week that it actually didn’t use the “PureView” camera on its new Lumia 920 phone to shoot video that it used in an ad.  The company also admitted that some of its photography samples were also simulations.

Bloggers attacked the company for lying to consumers, noting that the images were not actually captured by the Lumia device.   The company instead used a hand-held video camera and lighting rig to create the marketing materials.   They then compared this technology with their competitors.
