By: Victor “Doc V” Trammell

The last year of life for Tupac Shakur was indeed a roller coaster ride in the tumultuous path of fame, fortune, power, greed, loyalty, and betrayal.  He made new friends, rekindled old wars, and reinvented the story he had been telling all along with a realistic twist, which made him the final decider of his fate.

To date, he has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. He has released eight posthumous albums. Present day rap icon Eminem executive produced Tupac’s critically acclaimed LP” Loyal to the Game.” This shows how Tupac’s legacy had a lasting influence on even on the storytellers who succeeded him in the hip hop industry.

In 1997, Tupac Shakur’s mother Afeni Shakur founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts. The center trains and educates students that face the same social-economic issues issues Tupac did, such as poverty.
