Actress Stacey Dash, best known for her role on the shows ‘Clueless’ and CSI, ignited a Twitter firestorm when she endorsed Mitt
Romney.
“Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future,” Dash tweeted on Sunday along with a picture of her in a swim suit.
That tweet didn’t go over well with her followers, many of whom view Mitt Romney as a fork tongued liar who doesn’t stand for anything.
“You’re an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney. You’re voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot,” one person tweeted.
Ouch! But it is true that Romney has no plan for how to put marginal black actresses back to work, so there’s that.
Another person tweeted, “I unfollowed Stacy Dash’s dumb *ss” and “yall know stacey dash will do anything for a dollar nowadays. she got kicked off of single ladies the one thing that made her relevant.”
But some of the tweets were downright cutting.
“Stacey Dash has probably been thinking that she’s a white woman since her “Clueless” days. All the signs were there” one person tweeted.
Dash responded by tweeting, “My humble opinion… EVERYONE is entitled to one.”
It all makes you wonder if Dash at any time stopped to contemplate that as a black actress, a lot of her support comes from black folk, and black people are, by and large, staunchly behind Obama.
Dash is certainly entitled to her opinion, but her fans are allowed to express their opinions as well. That’s just how it works. Dash should stay out of the political kitchen if she can’t stand the heat.

Just because a person is in show business does not guarantee that they are rational. You don’t have to be rational, literate, intelligent, or even sane to read a TV or movie script. Stop over-rating these performers who are just that.

Its very confusing why stacy dash would put her career in jepordy
Most of hollywood is liberal and support president obama.90percent of african americans support the first black president.the things stacy dash shouldl have considered was the disrespect and raceism the republican has done to president.he has 90percent of talk radio against him,fox news and tea party.romney never disavowed these remarks.it would be nice if stacy dash would disavow these comments and suggest to the romney campaign that while supports romney as a fellow african america they should make some state ment condeming these remarks.
I believe if she would come out and tell them then no would care who she supports.
I dont think we will be seeing stacy dash in many up commin films or at least any good ones.

When people like Stacy, Whoopie and others of high economic stature vote for Republican types, they don’t seem to realize that the hateful backlash they are receiving from blacks is largely from fear. Middle class t o lower class blacks have more to lose if Republican agenda does not keep in place those programs that have helped us. Stacy has little or less to lose financially, if the Republicans turn back time. They want to take back Affirmative Action. They want reduced wages, cut entitlement programs, cut Pel grants. These types of programs probably have no or little impact on their live. Yet, cutting just one major program could be the difference between living in a home or living in the street. It could be the difference between whether or not our children will be able to go to college. So yes, blacks get upset! Also, Mitt Romney has flipped flopped so much, how can we take that chance and trust him. Members of his OWN party stated that he will lie. Millionaires like Ms. Dash live in a bubble. She doesn’t get it. The fact that she’s(and Whoopie) shocked at black America’s reaction to her support for Romney shows she IS clueless.

Ms. Dash is entitle to her opinion because we reside in a so-call democracy. She reminds me of Alan West of Florida, Michael Steele former RNC Chairman and the others that have forgetten how people of color were treated and are still being treated here in the United States of America. The Romneys have never had to struggle to provide food, shelter, clothing and a decent education for their children. Mitt Romney says one of the first things on his agend if he becomes president is to repeal “Obama Care.” The law that is aiding millions of Americans that were denied the benefit of obtaining affordable Health Insurance. It is individuals such as herself that will suffer serious hardship and will ask People of Color to aide her in her days and years of suffering. It is people such as Ms. Dash that we as People of Color must leave behind.
If Mitt Romney is elected President of the U.S.A. People of Color and the rights we achieved over the years will disappear.

Mekia,
This may be true, but understand this is the same group that has used blacks as the poster child for everything that is wrong in America. This includes the mythical “welfare queen” with a new caddy and 5 kids in tow collecting foodstamps to the stand your ground laws that make whites so scared of our youth that they will shoot them down just out of fear. Ironically blacks as a whole are very conservative but are accepted in the republican party only under certain conditions which are to falsely make others believe that they are not as racist as they are. Once their use for the tokens are over they are tossed back, and sometime rewarded later (herman “uncle ruckus” cain)(radio show), or defamed (Colin Powell)(bush administration), or ignored (micheal steele)(RNC)but mainly they are just manipulated like stacy dash

Dr. Boyce,
African Americans have always criticized blacks who support the Republican platform. The backlash to Dash’s comment is not because we happen to have a black president. Condi Rice and Colin Powell didn’t receive support from the black community. Remember!

Isn’t she going through a nervous breakdown? I thought she was on unstable ground before all of this. I know she had a bitter breakup with her white husband.
