Gallaudet University has asked their chief diversity officer to come back to the university after they put her on leave. According to NBC News, the university put the diversity officer on leave because she signed a petition to reverse Maryland’s same-gender marriage law.
The chief diversity officer, Dr. Angela McCaskill,was forced to go on leave because a faculty member noticed she had signed the controversial petition and reported her to the university administration. McCaskill signed the petition after attending a church sermon which spoke against same-gender marriage. After the sermon, she signed the petition in the church.
