Kent Boese is a man who loves his Northwest Washington neighborhood. He is a librarian who often walks past Fisherman of Men Church which calls the building, at Quebec Place and Georgia Avenue, home.
Boese had a great idea that the building should be designated as a historic landmark. What the neighborly librarian did not know was that the Bishop, Clarence Groover Sr., and the parishioners did not have the same thoughts about the building as he did. It turns out the 150 member church had another idea for the building that was bought by the church 25 years back.
Although Boese has only been living in the neighborhood for five years, he is the secretary of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 1A, which serves the neighborhood where the church is.
