Doctors Mistakenly Declare a Boy Dead, Even Though Relatives Insisted That He Was Alive

The illness and possible death of a child are already too much for most parents to bear.  But to have doctors make major mistakes while allegedly doing their jobs only adds pain on top of pain.  That’s what some parents are trying to understand after doctors declared their 8-year old son dead and took him off the ventilator for hours, even though relatives kept telling them that he was still alive.

The scientific slip up of the doctors has led to a major lawsuit being filed by the parents of the boy, who’d suffered serious brain damage in recent months.  Jaylen Dorsey’s parents are accusing Mercy Hospital and Medical Center of gross negligence toward their child, and said that it took five hours before doctors decided to perform cardiac ultrasound to show that his heart was beating.
