If I could redecorate my place every season, I would, but I, like most individuals in this economy, am living on a budget.  Regardless of budget and style, there are a few staple pieces that I believe that no home should go without. See my list of household must haves:

-          A mirror- Mirrors are not just for bathrooms and bedrooms. Mirrors can serve as the focal point of any living room and or dining room, in some cases replacing artwork. I personally recommend oversized mirrors that rest against the wall.  Check out these mirrors from Pier 1 Imports.

-          A trunk – A trunk can have many purposes in addition to serving as a great storage tool, it can also be used as coffee and or side table. The World Market has a great collection of wooden and wicker trunks that would go great in any home.
