New Technology Allows Police to Determine if You are Texting or Using a Hand Held Cell Phone

If you think you’re going to keep getting away with texting and driving at the same time, you might want to think again.  Funding from the Obama Administration is allowing police to spot drivers who are texting while behind the wheel.  Currently, the technology is only in use in Connecticut and Massachusetts, but it might soon be available everywhere.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announced announced the grants, which are just $275,000, which is small on government terms.  The grants are designed to support the states and ”to help them plan and conduct high-visibility anti-texting enforcement programs.”
