Elmo Accuser Was Paid Off To Cover Up Scandal

And the plot thickens. According to TMZ Elmo accuser, Sheldon Stephens was paid $125,000 in hush money,by Kevin Clash (Elmo) to recant his story about having an inappropriate relationship with him, while he was a minor. Clash did acknowledge the affair but said that it was consensual and that it occurred when Stephens was an adult. Now multiple sources have come out and have said that just before Stephens recanted his allegation, Clash executed and negotiated a settlement with Stephens.

The terms stated that, “Stephens agrees that immediately upon execution of this Agreement, his counsel, Andreozzi & Associates, P.C., shall release the [following] statement … ‘He [Stephens] wants it to be known that his s****l relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.” They also made it clear that Stephens was not allowed to say anything further about the matter, but the aforementioned statement.

It is said that Stephens signed the statement reluctantly and has maintained that his affair with Clash did occur while he was still a minor. A source told TMZ that Stephens was crying during the whole negotiation process and that he did not want to sign the statement. There has been no comment from Clash’s lawyer, in regard to recent developments. Sesame Street is starting to look like Skid Row. This cannot be good for Sesame Workshop’s image. This is not over by a long s**t.
