Yvette Carnell: 5 Dumbest Excuses Republicans Are Making For Why Romney Lost

by Yvette Carnell

In so far as conservatives are concerned, the world ended on election day. Fine, I’ve got no problem with that. Don’t care. What is striking, however, is how many Republicans, in the midst of their meltdown, are making up outlandish excuses for why they didn’t take back the White House. Here are the top five:

  1. The electorate is just ignorant. We heard this rant from Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who said, “If you aren’t properly informed, if you don’t understand the problems facing this nation, you are that much more prone to falling prey to demagoguing solutions. And the problem with demagoguing solutions is they don’t work.” He continued: “I am concerned about people who don’t fully understand the very ugly math we are facing in this country.” Johnson, of course, doesn’t recall that this  very same electorate reelected George “Dubya” Bush in 2004. Was the electorate stupid then?  Or is choosing a Democratic president somehow evidence that we’re sloughing off I.Q. points? If Sen. Johnson really wants to see stupid, he should look no further than the closest mirror.
  2. The folks who voted for Obama just want free stuff.  OK. Well. Let me know where the line for all this “free stuff” begins, because last I checked, Republicans were the biggest welfare kings and queens in this country. According to Bloomberg: “Seventy percent of counties with the fastest-growth in food-stamp aid during the last four years voted for the Republican presidential candidate in 2008, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg.”
  3. Hurricane Sandy did it. Although Sandy may’ve provided President Obama a boost, polling had Obama up long before then. Nate Silver, who predicted this election exactly, never had Obama’s chance of losing at below 60 percent.
  4. Romney was just an awful candidate. Well, yes, he was, but Republicans selected him. They voted for him in the primaries. They chose him.  They could’ve had a smarter, more moderate candidate in Jon Huntsman, but they chose that android Mitt Romney instead. In that sense, Romney’s rise to the top says just as much about conservatives as it does Romney. There’s no escaping that.
  5. We just need more brown faces. Nope. Tokenism is not a feasible strategy anymore. (Good riddance Rep. Allen West. What’s up Mia Love?). Republicans don’t need more brown faces. They need more polices that appeal to black and brown people. There is a difference.

Republicans just need to admit it: You suck. Do yourself a favor and take some personal responsibility. Try to suck less next time.

Mark I agree with you. I take off my hat to you. We must start learning to do for ourselves. The world is changeing. People come from all over the world and do for their countryman. We don;t need to stop keep saying “He never did anything for me.” Now start saying what is it I can do for myself?

Excuse me my people. You can heap all the complaints you want against white Republicans, but I ask you to consider what we are doing to each other. More importantly, when are we, as black folks, going to take responsibility, for not making the best choices? Here are some examples: not economically cooperating with one another, getting a college degree then going to work for the government instead of the more lucrative private sector, and letting Democrats get away with taking us for granted. The worst one is us waiting for someone to save us instead of us recognizing we have to save ourselves. So keep letting these politicians pimp you by letting them manipulate your emotions, and we will continue to fall behind as a people. My philosophy is pimp these politicians by pitting them against each other and forcing them to deliver. The moment they can’t take our vote for granted is when they will start delivering.

People really do not know or understand what the term or phrase “government freebies or government welfare” really means in this country…

All whites benefits from government money (welfare)…

Lockhead Martin, Boeing, Norhtrop Grueman, Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, GM, Ford, and many more…

The government gives $500,000.00 to a white man to investigate what happens to a rock when it gets wet…and other silly projects…

In 2004, the government gave two billion dollars to AT&T/Sprint/Verizon to build a FREE wifi for internet access across America…each of the companies took the money, and justified why they could not setup FREE wifi for internet access…

I am hoping that congress does not pass a budget and all taxes go up for everyone…

The reason is that all government contracts would be cut, meaning that 90% of all whites would not have a job…and they would be forced to come on down and dress like the rest of the people…

And here I thought it was all the “chattle” and “moocher” name-calling of more than half the population and the insinuation that Republicans were the only real Americans. Trying to force acceptance of rape and its consequences on women did not help. Many women would get antsy waiting around for their rapist to take them to court for a custody battle royal. Then again, maybe they lost because they made the growing numbers of minorities feel like the ignorant help who needed the “lords and ladies” to tell them what to do.

    Yessum, sire…
