Man with Artificial Legs Controlled by his Brain Plans to Climb a Skyscraper

A man who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident is planning to do something that others might have considered impossible in the past.  Zac Vawter, a 31-year old software engineer, agreed to be a research subject for using his prosthetic leg to climb the Willis Tower in Chicago.   He is not climbing the building from the outside, but instead, going up 103 flights of steps to get to the very top.

If he gets to the top, Vawter is going to make history.  His leg responds to electronic pulses from his hamstring as he thinks the words “climb stairs.”
