Michelle Obama Gives Awards to Community Groups

Michelle Obama spoke of  the “transformative power of the arts” this week  as she was brought in to give out humanities awards to various community programs that reach out to underserved youth.  The first lady acknowledged programs that help underserved kids by  using music, dance, poetry, theater, history, digital arts and other forms of expression for young people to help with their development.

The ceremony was held at the White House, and Mrs. Obama thanked those in attendance.
