Dennis Haysbert Replaces Michael Clarke Duncan For Sin City Sequel

Our favorite Allstate voice and Hollywood president from Fox’s 24 is negotiating to play Manute in Sin City: A Dame to k**l For. The role was originally played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan who passed away in September. The character developed for A Dame To k**l For, Dwight, is enthralled in a relationship with a seductress, Ava.  Manute is the right-hand man of Ava’s husband.

In a statement made to the Hollywood Reporter, the directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller said, “Manute is a character that has been part of the heart of the Sin City tales, and the late Michael Clarke Duncan beautifully established that role onscreen. We could not tell the story of Sin City: A Dame to k**l For without Manute and are thrilled to welcome Dennis Haysbert to the cast.”

Others returning are actors Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Jaime King and Rosario Dawson. Actor Jamie Chung is replacing Devon Aoki for the sequel. Filming is tentatively set to start in December and be in full production by January. Haysbert is currently the voice of General Hologram in Wreck-It Ralph.  He also appeared in The Details, with Tobey Maguire (Spiderman)
