Samuel L. Jackson Says Guns, Video Games, and Hollywood Movies Aren’t What Caused Sandy Hook

Samuel L. Jackson, one of the stars of the Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained, is speaking out against the idea that  Samuel L. Jacksongun control will end gun violence in America.

“I don’t think it’s about more gun control. I grew up in the South with guns everywhere and we never s**t anyone. This [shooting] is about people who aren’t taught the value of life … I don’t think movies or video games have anything to do with it” said Jackson.

Jackson continued, saying, “We need to stop deranged people from getting access to guns.”

Jackson also dismissed the idea that Hollywood or video games have anything to do with gun violence.

“I don’t think movies or video games have anything to do with it,” he said in an interview with The Times.

On Wednesday, President Obama announced that he would be putting together a group of experts to introduce new gun legislation. Obama said that his team, headed by Vice President Joe Biden,  will have a plan to curb gun violence no later than January, and he will push the legislation “without delay.”

President Obama dismissed the idea that his plan is just another commission designed to punt on the issue of gun control, saying that his team will not be a commission, but a group of experts who will “sift through” the good ideas that are already out there and come up with a recommendation.

The president also dismissed the idea that any legislation related to guns is an encroachment on the second amendment.
