Stevie Wonder Gives $100K To Young Cancer Victim

StevieIcon, Stevie Wonder, took a page out of Charlie Sheen’s book when he donated $100,000 to ten year old, Jasmine Faulk. Wonder presented the check to the little Jasmine, on stage, at the Nokia Theatre in L.A., last Saturday. Wonder then serenaded the little girl with “Isn’t She Lovely” to which Jasmine replied, “I love you Stevie!”, and gave the singer a big hug. Charlie Sheen gave Jasmine $75,000 last week, when he learned of her condition, through his stunt double, Eddie Braun. Braun also donated $25,000.  Jasmine’s father, a police officer, has worked privately for Stevie since 1997.

Wonder has lent his name and voice to many causes and benefits. His charity, We Are You Foundation, has supported many causes, including donations and support for The Junior Blind of America. Other organizations that Wonder has supported in the past include,Habitat for Humanity, Stand Up For Cancer, Children In Need, and the Special Olympics.

Jasmine suffers from Childhood Rhabdomyosarcoma. Rhabdomyosarcoma is cancer of the soft tissue (muscle, tendon, cartilage). It normally begins in the muscles that are attached to the bones, that aid in body movement. It is the most common type of sarcoma cancer found in children. The treatments can take over a year and can become very costly.
