Andruw Jones, formerly of the Atlanta Braves, is in serious trouble after a domestic violence incident that took place in his home on Christmas morning. The 35-year old player was arrested and booked at the Gwinnet County Jail in Atlanta for simple assault in an incident involving his wife.
Jones won the Golden Glove Award ten times in a row between 1998 and 2007. Andruw and his wife Nicole, to whom he’s been married for 10 years, had been fighting when police arrived on the scene. He was booked and released on $2,400 bond.
Jones last played for the New York Yankees during the 2012 season and was released as a free agent. He then signed a one-year, $3.5 million dollar deal with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan’s Pacific League.
Jones has a tattered history. In court, he once testified that he slept with two women in front of the owner of a night club and six other men. This was revealed during a lawsuit during which he testified about a prostitution ring being led inside the club. It appears that Mr. Jones lives life in the fast lane, hardly the posture of a happily married man.
