Sen. Dianne Feinstein, one of President Obama’s stauchest allies in the U.S. Senate said on Sunday that she will introduce a bill proposing a ban on assault weapons.
In an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, the 79-year-old senior member of the U.S. Senate stated that Obama will soon have the proper legislation “to lead on” in regard to the gun control debate. “We’ll be prepared to go, and I hope the nation will really help,” said Feinstein.
Senator Feinstein said that she will personally introduce the bill when Congress reconvenes next month. The bill will also be proposed before the U.S. House of Representatives. Feinstein gave details of the bills stating:
