Obama’s EPA Chief Stepping Down

Lisa Jackson was one of a kind.  Not only was she the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, she is also a black woman.  Jackson stepped down recently after a four year period of leading the nation’s top environmental regulatory agency.   Jackson’s tenure was a consistent battle with Republicans to try to make changes to environmental regulations.

The 50-year old Jackson told the president that she wanted to leave next year, informing him of the move right after the election. She issued a short statement on the matter this morning and is mum about what she wants to do after she leaves office.

I love Lisa, not very many african american women are in the Presidents cabinet. Regardless of the backlash, African American women are not afraid t fight for what they believe in, they understand and know the importance of the environment, its effect on our health, so that we are able and can get up to go to work. The environment must be protected as ordered by the Lord, or we are doomed. As you are already witnessing, climate change, global destruction. I am so sadden by her leaving, I truly hope she was not forced out, for African American women gains have not been many in the cabinet or staff at the white house. May God Bless you Lisa
