212 Rapper Azealia Banks Called Out by GLAAD For Using Homophobic Slur in Rant

azealia-banks-gq-4_thelavalizardFor a rapper who says that she eventually wants to get out of the game, Azealia Banks, is finding herself deep in it. The rapper, as of late, is feuding with everyone she comes in contact with. Now the 212 rapper is in trouble with GLAAD (The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). The rapper is under  fire for calling celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, a “fa**ot, in response to his comments about her feud with rapper, Angel Haze. GLAAD had an earful for the artist.  “Banks’ claim that the word ‘fa**ot’ doesn’t mean a gay male is not true.”

“Regardless of her intent or her personal definition, what matters is the meaning given to that word by those who hear it, and the damage it causes when they do. Undoubtedly there are gay kids who follow her on Twitter who hear this word in an entirely different context.”

“This word is used almost universally by bullies, often as part of a larger verbal or physical assault. This word hurts those kids, no matter what Banks meant by it,”

Although Banks apologized to fans, that may have been offended by her choice of words, she was adamant about not apologizing to Perez Hilton.

“My most sincere apologies to anyone who was indirectly offended by my foul language. Not sorry for Perez tho. Lol”

In the past year, Banks has had run-ins with, Lil’ Kim, Kreayshawn, Jim Jones, Nicki Minaj, T.I., Iggy Azalea, and now Angel Haze.
