Chris Rock Heads to Capitol Hill to Help President Obama Push For Gun Control

Chris Rock’s comedy is funny for a variety of reasons, but the comic’s cultural observations are second to no one. Rock succinctly chris rockpacks the cultural traditions of Americans of all races into snappy one liners that resonate and make you laugh. Now Rock is taking that talent for careful observation to Capitol Hill, where he plans on using it to help the Obama administration’s push for gun control.

Politico reports:

Rock, along with singer Tony Bennett, actress Amanda Peet, actor Adam Scott and actress Anna Deavere Smith will join a coalition featuring Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.), Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Law Center to Prevent Violence at a press conference in the U.S. Capitol. The group is aligned with the website DemandAPlan.org

The organization is reportedly in favor of  expanding background checks as well as a banning assault weapons.

In his previous stand-up routine, Rock expressed his feelings on gun control, joking, “Gun control? We need bullet control! I think every bullet should cost $5,000. Because if a bullet cost five thousand dollars, we wouldn’t have any innocent bystander.”

Rock also recently told the Television Critics Association, “The gun lobby also says people need to be able to protect their property. … “But every mass shooting is done by guys who live with their mother. So I believe you should need to have a mortgage to buy a gun. A mortgage is a real background check. Even if you go to jail for 30 years, you’ve still got to pay your f—-king mortgage.”

    One had to laugh!

The 1st thing I saw on the morning news is Chris Rock standing behind a podium saying the President and Michelle are like the countries Mom and Dad, and you are supposed to do what your Mom and Dad tell you!

Barack, Manage the country and leave the entertainers along! You are the President not a Hollywood Star! It’s no wonder things have gotten worse since you have been in office! You don’t have a clue about how to govern! I can tell by the people you get advice from.

So who is the bigger comic? Rock or Obama?

The President needs to spend his time on
    The Health Care Program
    The 22 million Illegals
The $3.86 gas price, that’s double what it was when he came into office
The powder keg that’s the middle east
The energy dependecy of the U. S. A.
    The 1 Trillion dollar deficit
    The 16.5 Trillion dollar debt

Besides when the terrorist who are already in the country strike we will need our guns.

If he want a good place in history he needs to clean up some of the mess and stop creating it!

I’m sorry, what are Rock’s credentials again! Did I miss something? I thought he was a stand up some what funny foul mouth comic!

Obama needs to stop this, he is as bad as the clowns he is going to for advice!

The President is losing my respect fast!

Just so all the haters know, Mr. Rock grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn during the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, when heroin and crack turf wars and gun violence was rampant, with a neighborhood homicide rate that was one of the highest in the US at the time. Mr. Rock has talked about how many people in that neighborhood he grew up in are gone (as in dead)due to these conditions, so he does know firsthand what guns can do. So, he does know what he is talking about, having experienced all of this, and would like this cycle of generational death ended through tougher laws. This is a commendable thing, and not one that he should be critisized for. Glenn Krasner in the Bronx, NY.

All these hypocritical black entertainers jumping on the gun control bandwagon now when it effects white children. I guess it wasn’t politically correct to speak up when black children were dying. Phony’s like Chris Rock make a living selling racial stereotypes and racial slurs about blacks to whites for profit. IMO Chris Rock like many black entertainers like him don’t care about anything other than their careers.

I am glad Chris Rock is assisting on this deal with gun control.

In Kentucky there were two people killed by a resident during their HOA Meeting. He killed two board members because he did not like the fact of rules that he was suppose to abide by.

I have a neighbor that decided to show me her gun and pointed at the gun and pointed at me as if to state this is for you. She also told a police officer that if you do not take her (ABC Funeral Home will) the Police Officer did nothing because of the small community that we live in.

I have been afraid to be by myself & it is a situation where I could have been shot by this neighbor.

I think something needs to be done with the guns to get control of people using them for something other than harming innocent people.

Chris Rock and all rich celeb can go to hell. They need to stay in their lane. Elitist pricks who have nothing to worry about because they can afford bodyguards.

Is Chris Rock going to push for the criminals and the mentally unstable to give up their guns? I am sure he’s not going to do that.
