Kobe Bryant Reveals the Amazing Level of Self Control LeBron James Displays on the Court

by Deborah Caldwell

Kobe Bryant and his Lakers are scheduled to play the Celtics tonight, and while in town,  Kobe sat down with ESPN Boston for a wide ranging interview.Lebron

Among the topics discussed was how different basketball players deal with trash talking on the court.

Kobe talked about how focused LeBron is on the court, and how King James laughs off any attempts to get under his skin with trash talk.

Here’s Kobe in his own words:

“I don’t talk trash often, but when I do, I go for the jugular.”

The camaraderie of today’s NBA players, fueled, in part, by their AAU alliances, is mildly disturbing to Bryant, who preferred it when the enemy was anyone who didn’t ride the team bus with you to the game.

“They don’t seem to want to talk any trash,” Kobe shrugged. “I say everything to LeBron. He says nothing back. He just laughs. There’s no banter back and forth. I guess it’s a generational thing. When I first came into the league, the trash talk was downright cutthroat.”

Although some players, like Carmelo Anthony, allow other players to get into their heads, LeBron isn’t one of those guys. He has a steely focus which keeps him impervious to all that’s going on around him.

It just goes to show that no matter your occupation, your level of focus is still a key to success.

One incident regarding Carmelo Anthony and trash talking and autmatically he becomes the poster child for underperforming when being provoked. Do you idiots really believe that kevin Garnett was the only person that trash talked Melo throughout his entire career? Melo has been killing in this league since day one regardless of the excessive trash talking. One incident does not make a career. Stop listening to these incompetent sportscasters and sportswriters and think for yourself. I guess when Lebron has a bad game after someone talks trash to that will him makes him a player that can be taken out of his game!!! That is sheer nonsense.

Why didn’t anyone mention how Bron performed in the finals after folks turned on him for teaming with D-Wade and Chris Bosh. Does that mean Bron can’t handle what people say about him? You cannot pigeon hole people for one game or a series.

I know times change but respect is respect. and when records are broken the team they are broken against are not the focus of the record the team that broke the recoord is the focus. please lets stop the focus on new school and old school; and just play

Shows the level of maturity on LeBron James’ part. He’s a man amongst boys (even the old ones) who let his actions do all the talking. Sometimes, I wish the rest would follow suit, then maybe the NBA would become exciting again

trash talk is bullshit. you talk with your game. just like mark jackson saying he is old school to commit a flagrant foul to stop the rockets from setting the 3 pt record against his team. mark jackson is not old school Bill Russel, Wilt, Oscar, Baylor, West thats old school. mark jackson’s dumb shit is new school. records are made to be broken and when they are we should embrace them

Don’t like trash talk… Never have. Where I am from I have seen it get out of hand. On the play ground everybody ain’t wrapped up so tight. Maybe in the NBA in such a controlled environment you can cross any line. On the streets people will kill you. That is a fact!!

Only psychopaths, like Hitler, Napoleon & warmongering banksters, want to rule the world. Good people just want to be apart of improving the world.
