Dr. Boyce: President Obama Meets with Black “Leaders”: Of Course Nothing Got Done

P

by Dr. Boyce Watkins

Some might say that Basketball Wives is the most buffoonish reality show on TV.  But that’s not the case, since a much better reality show could be called, “Black Leaders Meet Obama at the White House.”  Like Basketball Wives, the show would be all flash, and no substance.  While the Basketball Wives want to be seen with Gucci purses and expensive shoes, the White House show would consist of black people who are proud to be seen standing next to the president.   It would be hilarious to watch.

I received yet another one of those White House emails that they send out to “influencers” in the black community.  You know, those people that they think other black people listen to.   The email laid out the talking points of a recent meeting at the White House, and who was in attendance.

Lol….. They became leaders by becoming innocuous and giving up their power to lead. selling black folk by popular rhetorical proxy. Advertised leaders that don’t lead, crowned with the political glory of abusing black folk. Give them a civil rights trophy, a white woman or man, a documentary and a pocket full of money and they will lead you right to the back of the bus. You pimps are up but i ask you to play your part as the ho down. Res non verba……..It’s not what they say, it’s what you do…..deeds not words. No jobs and no justice since before you were in civil rights diapers. Man up or get out of the way…….

Ever since the Shirley Sherrod debacle on the speech to an NAACP conference where she was falsely accused of racism. Then the NAACP president Ben Jealous and our President Obama scurried scared at the lie that these white folk had concocted at fired her from her position at the Agriculture department. Not quick to find the truth these two “black leaders” let black leadership down in not vetting a false story first but jumping at a fake news story. They don’t deserve a pass nor did Ms. Sherrod want her job back because she saw black men whose backbones were thought to be rigid but flexible, actually snap from the word of white people.

Mr. Watkins, is there no shame in yo’ game? It is so very obvious that feel slighted. Get over yourself. Most of the country does not know who you are in spite of what you tell yourself.
