Tiara K. Williams: Cornel West…C’mon Son

Righteous Thought, by Tiara K. Williams

Last week has been such a beautiful Obama filled week. My life has been enthralled in a frenzy of inspirational speeches, beautiful gowns and elegant eye rolls. Of course, I’m speaking of the 2013 Presidential Inauguration celebration. This week, Americans witnessed Barack Obama, the first African American President ordained into his second term as POTUS. The scene reminded me of four years ago when I stood in the National Mall freezing with hundreds of thousands of people commemorating the monumental occasion.

For many people the inauguration has sparked conversations of healthcare, gun control, and policy but for Dr. Cornel West this inauguration brought a different repartee. West has been very vocal of his qualms for President Obama and has certainly been frank about the president’s “inadequacies.” In his latest saga, Dr. West had an issue with President Obama being sworn into presidency with Dr. Martin Luther King’s bible. Dr. West, reportedly accused Obama of being a “Republican in Black Face,” and declared that the inauguration was “a moment of presidential pageantry.”

The true reason why we aren’t being taken seriously. Stop being caught up in the rapture and start being involved with platform. Who really fuc@%in cares about “speeches”, “gowns” and eye “rolls”?

Hey Tiara, try writing for the National Enquirer. They deal in pictures as well.

A bi-racial President raised by white grandparents and called by the name Barry before he became old enough to switch back to his given name Barak has no roots to slavery here in America. He has black skin because of his African father Barak Sr. and like most interacial children the melanin will be dominate. Yes he married a fine and intelligent black woman that complements him and his rise to the presidency does not make him obligated to black folks when most voted for him out of color conciousness. The racism toward this President is because he is black and these racist of Fox News and Congress were the teens and young adults of the 50′s and 60′s that shouted “niggas” at us, sits in the chairs of these establishments and passed down there bigotry to their next generations.

Until Mr. West has something worthwhile to say, who cares what his views on the president are. It’s an opinion, not a fact. His opinons are irrelevant.

I think that is an absolute disgrace that the Bible of Dr. King was desecrated by the hypocritical warmongering Barack Obama—the primary facilitator of racist forces who lynched Black people in Libya. It was not enough for these diabolical forces to assassinate Dr. King. They have to continuously defame his character while exploiting his legacy.

WE ARE DOING JUST WHAT THESE SICK WHITE FOLKS WANT US TO DO. Critizise one another. Disappoint them fools. I refuse to critizise my sister or brother in public.Join together and critizise the enemy. He is just like the devil.

The easiest thing in the world is to complain about the prison complex, condition of black people, and what Obama is not doing. While black people like West and many others are focussing on Obama, shorty is slinging on the corner, killing off black children, gang banging and enticing other black kids to join. Oh, it’s a conspiracy fostered by the white man. Many years ago the man said, “Yall’s free Nigga” we refuse to leave the chains behind. “Obama will not give me the key to get my chains off.” Here we are calling our women bitches, drinking, drugging, robbing and stealing. Black people are asleep in the middle of the day time, we are hungry but not starving, HISPANICS ARE STARVING AND WILL BE MOVING STRONG TOGETHER!!!! While black people hand down ingnorance and poverty through the generations. The chaos is in the community, not the White House. West, Tavis and others need to hit the street. When you visit the hood, you can see the problems right away, just look at our youth. Pants on the ground, standing around on corners doing nothing or slinging, no fathers around and angry for being left behind.

Hey Jason! I agree with some of your arguments. For the most part most of the programs being passed are not really benefiting or improving the African American community. But the question that should be asked? Are African Americans the largest minority and the election proved that they are not. Latinos are the new minority and are growing every year. As a result, not only are they the most powerful minority group they are a huge economic factor. There are many Latino immigrants who are wealthy and contribute in the economy. As such, the Democratic party will support them and continue to serve their interests. If African Americans want to get their voice heard we have to start our own businesses to compete with the other groups to get a share of the pie. Otherwise we will continue to be an ex factor in the political arena. My only complaint with your comment against Diann is calling her a Bitch and a nigga. you don’t need to result in that vulgar manner. You are a strong EDUCATED black man show your true colors and always be a gentleman even though some comments might be offensive. Be the better man! I don’t like when black men and black women fight in a grotesque manner because it truly shows our weaknesses, ignorance, and negativity. Also I am proud you are getting your master’s degree you serve as an inspiration for other black men striving to be better.

What about the comment that our President is sending (or continuing to send) drones to other countries that are being used to kill innocent people? So what if the last President did it. If you kick me after another person kicks me, I will take actions against both of you. The President does not get a pass on unjust killing just because the last President killed unjustly.

This country didn’t get into this mess in weeks or months. It has been going on for decades. All politicians are crooks, looking out for themselves. All they are interested in is making themselves millionaires and living luxurious lives. While we are out of jobs, put out of our homes and will have to pay more for Obamacare than we were paying before, they live it up in D.C with their fine wines and limos. We are in debt to China and they give themselves raises and exempt themselves from Obamacare. Until we clean out D.C we are doomed.

How would black people act if a white president said and did exactly the same things as Barack Obama did? Would they really march on the White House as Congressman Emanuel Cleaver said they would?

We would do what we did under Bush II, Clinton, Bush II, Reagan, and every President before….

      Not pay attention.

Actually when Reagan was in office is when the CIA introduced crack to the ghettos and made it legal for abortions which has both caused a downfall in our populations and community. Clinton introduced the Measure 11 act. Bush passed a law in 2005 that makes us just the North American Union without any borders, 911 was planned and it had inside triggers that caused war made America a more military style state (A Lil secret. JET FUEL CAN NOT BURN STEEL IT IS SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE). But that just it, when we tell people whats going on they neglect it and go about living the fake American Dream.

You are ABSOLUTELY correct, Jason. “If you have nothing constructive to say, say nothing at all?”

Give me a Goddamed break. We are SUPPOSED to question the president and demand more of him.

If he was a white boy we’d be going in on him.

    Smh…we’re being played like fiddles…

That’s just it. When I go against ignorance and denial of what is going on, it does not matter if they are black and white. That’s the first things someone says. If he was white would we be saying the same thing and the answer is YES. We might be starving but A BLACK MAN IS SHOT EVERY THREE DAYS FROM A COP,ARMED ENFORCER, OR ARMED GUARD. CHICAGO HAS HIT A HIGH OF OVER 500 HOMICIDES. While we can only do what we can in our communities we still need help. The Truth is constructive. Obama is a puppet like the rest of the government to the FEDERAL RESERVE AND THEY ALL PLAY WITH OUR LIVELY HOODS. The truth is that im not saying nothing different than he other great black leader has not said already(MLK,Malcolm X, Huey Newton, Eldridge Clever,Farrakhan, Cornel West, Sam Cook, Micheal Jackson,Jimmy Hendrix,John F Kennedy. Muhammad Ali, Fred Hampton, W.E.B Dubois, Fredrick Douglas.I can keep on going if you want me to.
