Dr. Boyce: Mrs. World Pageant Responds to Allegations of Racial Discrimination

 

In this video, Dr. Boyce Watkins speaks with Nomalanga Mhlauli-Moses, the reigning Mrs. Botswana. Nomalanga recently competed in the Mrs. World pageant and after the pageant, wrote a letter to the evaluation committee citing the fact that there were no black or African women chosen among the 14 finalists. She also noted that there were no black judges and that the pageant has rarely acknowledged black women in its 26-year history.
