What's Happening In Your World
Samuel L. Jackson is known for his one liners, as well as his bombastic personality, and during a recent interview about Django Unchained , he used his most identifiable character traits to needle a reporter about the “N” word. Reporter  Jake Hamilton asked Jackson about Django Unchained ‘s unending use of the “N” word, and Jackson acted as if he didn’t know which “N” word the reporter was  referencing. “No? Nobody? None?” Jackson pretended. ”The word would be…” Hamilton pressed on, telling Jackson he didn’t want to say the actual word, but Jackson pushed Hamilton, goading him: “Try it!” “We’re not going to have this conversation unless you say it,” Jackson said jokingly, giving the reporter an alta madem,  before asking Hamilton if he wanted to move onto another question. Once Hamilton moved on, Jackson giggled, causing Hamilton to again insist that he wasn’t going to use the racial slur. “Oh, come on!” Jackson replied. That’s when Hamilton asked Jackson to say it, to which Jackson replied,“f*ck no!” “That’s not the same thing,” he explained, before continuing to goad Hamilton: “Say it!” In the end, Jackson avoided the question and Hamilton, to his credit, refused to use the “N” word. Hamilton lamented that it was a great question, to which Jackson replied, “No, it wasn’t…………..It wasn’t a great question if you couldn’t say the word.”

  8. You cant be big in Hollywood without being a complete sellout! Use a extremely hateful term 200 times in a movie that will be seen all over the world by ten's of millions of people that have never even seen a black person in the flesh, but when asked about it you play dumb? Sam's response seems cold-hatred and hateful in itself because in his profession how many blacks get regular work in Hollywood? Him, Will and Denzel about sums it up.(and they never work together) Actors are just that actors.Maybe the most "SELF- SERVING" job on the planet.

  9. Samuel Jackson may be on to something. Personally, I never thought that acting as though the word never existed was ever the answer. Over time, the word was losing it’s sting and I felt we should not continue to let a word have power over us. If someone used the word, let it be their problem.
Once I heard some young white guys using the word and they were making reference to themselves and it was not in a malicous manner.
I think the worse thing we could have done was to have a so-called burial of the word.
To me, the continued dilution of the “n”word would have been better over time cause it is not, in my opinion, likely to ever go away. You can’t change history.
