What's Happening In Your World
The Grammy nominations list always packs a few surprises, and certainly a few punches — just ask Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun — and one of this year’s surprises was Nicki Minaj ‘s exclusion from the list, especially in light of her presence at the 2012 awards. At this time last year Nicki Minaj was celebrating three nominations and gearing up for her first Grammys performance. She was up for the coveted Best New Artist award, in addition to Best Rap Album for Pink Friday and Best Rap Performance for the Drake-featured single “Moment 4 Life.” Although she didn’t take home any trophies during the awards show, Nicki did make quite a splash, debuting her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded single “Roman Holiday” with a theatrical performance that made the Catholic League squirm, and even before that by walking the red carpet in a red robe , with a pope look-alike in tow. They’ll Have Another One Next Year : Nicki Minaj Your 15 Minutes is Ticking!

Is Nicki Minaj on her way out the door as a megastar?   From the looks of things, the poor woman doesn’t have the musical swag and pull that she had in the past.  She’s been screaming at everyone from Target to Hot 97 about what they’re doing to harm her career.  But maybe Nicki’s harming her own career by going nuts on anyone who doesn’t give her what she wants.  Is she just a short fad?  Maybe.

  1. Yes this is a correct analysis. I remember when Lil Kim walked the same path of behavior as her career started venturing off course, and it seems Minaj is heading down that road. These music entertainers must understand that this is only temporary, especially in rap moreso tha R&B, and country music. Rappers are always targeted by other rappers for their spot and the industry doesnt make enough room for you to dominate, just enough for them to profit. After you pay for production, distribution, marketing, travel expenses, security contracts, and your record label taking their % of ownership, the artist better be smart and have pocketed the little residual they have.

  2. WELL THE GOOD THING IS SHE IS WITH CASH MONEY RECORDS AND SHE HAD THE CHANCE TO MAKE SOME REAL MONEY AND SHE HAS MADE A LOT SHE IS WORTH OVER 40MIL, SO IF SHE BLEW THAT THEN IT IS WHAT IT IS, BUT HER PROBLEM IS SHE STARTED OUT WITH MUSIC TOWARDS THE BLACK MARKET BUT QUICKLY JUMPED TO CROSS OVER MUSIC ON HER SECOND ALBUM….SHE DID PRETTY GOOD BUT SHE GOT CAUGHT UP PUSHING THE ENVELOPE TO FAR…TRIED TO GO THE LADY GAGA ROUTE BUT DIDn't LEAVE THE ATTITUDE…SHE AND ONLY SHE HAS HURT HER CAREER……
