Tichina Arnold Doesn’t Seem to Think Martin Reunion Could Ever Possibly Happen

If you’re one of the people who has been crossing their fingers and hoping that the comedy series, “Martin,” would make a comeback, it may be best not to hold your breath. First of all, it has been 20 years since the show was on the small screen and second of all, the reason why the show went away was because Tisha Campbell (Martin’s girlfriend, Gina, on the show) sued Martin Lawrence because it seemed be had a minor problem with “intimacy” boundaries.

Now, Tichina Arnold (Pam, on the show) says she is not optimistic that the show will come back, either. While the show is still on as reruns on Centric and can be bought on DVD, Arnold says that she doesn’t think that a reunion episode is possible, especially if Martin and Campbell would be required to be in the same room at the same time.

Speaking on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live!”, she said,

“We’ve all gone our separate ways, and we didn’t know ‘Martin’ would be as big as it was. We didn’t know we were part of an iconic show.”

Since playing Pam on “Martin”,  Arnold has gone on to star on another hit sitcom, “Everybody Hates Chris,” but she says that people still recognize her as “Pam”.

She said,

“I always get Pam. People always tell me I’m gonna always be Pam. That means I did my job right.”

While the cast members of “Martin” still stay in touch, it seems that a a reunion show is not likely. It seems that things are still a little weird after the lawsuit.

  1. Since both ladies are good friends of mind, I think the best thing to do is to just let it go, just like Good Times.

  2. I never did understand the popularity of the show. It had sort of a minstrel quality to it.

    • What was minstrel about it? It is ok for white shows to act silly but not ok for blacks?

    • The show was full of characters that were dim witted buffoons. Martin was a 90s version of JJ from Good Times, a big ole coon. White shows can afford to act silly because one sees whites act in many types of roles. Blacks did not have that luxury in the 1990s. In my opinion, Martin reinforced a lot of racial stereotypes. In fact all the roles Martin Lawrence plays takes black people back 100 years.

  3. let the people enjoy the reruns.

  4. without martin it would not be a reunion, anyway hope gina and martin is not thinking abt the past, i think they have let that die.

  5. easy fix really, Car accident, Gina's in comma, icu, Martin can't even get into room , due to accident caused by bio/radioactive/ something that requires quarantine, everyone else there, reminiscing, and little Martin, yep they have a son, is there and go from there – lot of catching up, Tommy was a secret undercover cop, that the did not have a job, Pam went back in time and birthed Chris Rock, or married Tommy and three lil beadie bees are the result..they should be able to handle it from here, just send me my check for my part,

    Do it without Martin Lawrence.
