According to the California Highway Patrol, a tour bus has overturned in California. The collision involved the bus and two other vehicles, and killed a total of eight people. CHP Officer Mario Lopez told the Associated Press that there are eight dead confirmed and many more who are injured. The crash took place on a mountain highway about 80 miles east of Los Angeles.
The incident took place around 6:30 pm and included a tour bus, a pickup truck and a sedan. San Bernardino County Fire Department spokesman Eric Sherwin says that 27 people were treated at the scene of the accident. Some had life threatening injuries, and others only suffered in minor ways.
The bus was seen turned sideways on the road by news cameras, and Sherwin still doesn’t know how the truck was involved. There were seven ambulances called to the scene of the accident and patients were taken to nearby hospitals. This is the second major crash in less than 24 hours. Less than 24 hours earlier, a bus carrying 42 high school students and adults crashed into a Boston overpass after the driver drove into an overpass with a height limit. There were 35 people injured in the Boston accident.
