What's Happening In Your World
There are an estimated 1.9 million Black-owned businesses in the United States and now you can find them easier with a new Smartphone application. The application, created from a partnership with the U.S. Black Chambers and Around the Way®, uses the GPS feature of your phone to find Black-owned businesses.  This is a welcome treat for those who understand the value of supporting black-owned businesses as one of the tools to reducing black unemployment in America. Ron Busby Sr., President of the U.S. Black Chambers, said that they created this new application in part to build a database of African-American businesses around the country. “This partnership with Around The Way is an important first step,” he said in a statement. “Through the app, supporters of Black business can quickly access the location of businesses, no matter where they are in the country.” Busby went on to say, “We believe Around The Way provides an important tool in our quest to strengthen Black business.” Premium listing and location highlights, along with the USBC logo, will be given to members of the U.S. Black Chambers, of which there are about 110 affiliates around the U.S. Android and iPhones can download the application for free and then the app will use the phones internal GPS to find where the user is and list Black-owned businesses within a 5-mile radius. “We can’t imagine a more natural evolution, a better way to improve both the awareness of the number of Black-owned businesses and increase their bottom lines,” said Busby. Busby continued, “[This is] an excellent app for the Black community. America’s Black businesses and the consuming public will benefit tremendously – all by clicking an app on their phone!” Around the Way CEO, Janine Hausif, said that they were glad to join up with U.S. Black Chambers to enhance black businesses. She added that the application is great for black consumers as they are technologically advanced and often look for the best deal on the market. Hausif said in a press release: “We believe that Around The Way is the perfect blend of technology and convenience. She continued, “The app capitalizes on the above-the-index embrace of Smartphone technology by African Americans with well over 50 percent of Black Americans using the devices to bridge the Digital Divide.”

  1. This one doesn’t apply when conversing to a possible date on line but
it really could be preferable to get these
issues fixed before meeting in the flesh. We STAY in a healthy,
compatible relationship for other reasons but the reason why we even look
twice at someone “in the crowd” has to do with their physical characteristics and how they stack up to our preferences in
that department. According to “Sweet Revenge,”
Carta and Hussainy also allegedly had ongoing affairs with Cowell when he was still living with “Extra”
correspondent Terri Seymour, whom he dated from 2002
    to 2008.

  2. I wonder does Woodi Holmes of Black Refer have a hand in this new app?

Considering all the hard work that Mr. Holmes has contributed in identifying black owned businesses across America one would find it somewhat unusual that he would not at least be consulted to some degree for his expertise in the discipline.
